Road Noise Cancelling

Electrification presents manufacturers with new acoustic challenges. Tyre abrasion noise in particular cannot be controlled with conventional (passive) damping materials.

Road noise cancelling solves this problem by means of active, adaptive noise reduction.

With the help of distributed microphones and acceleration sensors, we are able to reduce unwanted noise in the frequency range from 50 Hz to 500 Hz.

As a basis, we offer our know-how within the framework of projects to jointly evaluate whether and how our technology can help to solve the problem. For this purpose, we have developed a model-based approach that makes it possible to predect the potential RNC performance on a simulative level.

If the results of the model-based approach are satisfactory, we offer a PoC / development project to translate theory into practice.

After a successful PoC / development project, we offer our own developed software as a licence.

We do not see ourselves as a hardware supplier for the automotive industry. However, we have a lot of experience, which we are happy to offer in order to specify the hardware that will be used later. This avoids performance losses at the RNC.

Improves quality of life by reducing exposure to unwanted noise, risk of hearing loss and stress.

Improves the driving experience and comfort.

Improves the audio experience and in-car communication by reducing low-frequency noise.

We work with leading TIER1 and TIER2 from the fields of audio, sensor technology and acoustics. Some of our team members are noise cancelling experts with doctorates. We therefore know exactly which component has to perform what in order to operate RNC.
